When you create a Curb account and use the app, we collect:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account information | Email address, password (encrypted, never stored in plain text) |
| Business information | Business name, logo, primary trade type, invoice preferences |
| Location | ZIP code you provide for weather forecasting (we do not access precise GPS location) |
| Job data | Job details, prices, dates, status, notes, photos, signatures, checklists you create |
| Payment handles | Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or PayPal usernames you choose to add for receiving payment |
| Usage data | App settings and preferences (dark mode, currency, units) |
As part of running your business, you may enter information about your own customers into Curb — names, phone numbers, addresses, gate codes, property details, and notes. This information is:
If you operate in a region with specific data protection requirements for handling customer information (such as the EU, UK, or California), you are responsible for your own compliance as the data controller for your clients' information. Curb acts as a data processor on your behalf.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your data or your clients' data to third parties, ever.
Curb relies on a small number of trusted services to function. Each only receives the data necessary to perform its specific job:
| Service | Purpose | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Account authentication and data storage | Email, encrypted password, app data |
| Stripe | Payment processing for app purchase and workspace subscriptions | Email, payment card details (Curb never sees or stores your card number) |
| Open-Meteo | Weather forecasts | ZIP code-derived coordinates (no personal data) |
| Apple Maps | Turn-by-turn directions | Job addresses, only when you tap Navigate |
| Apple (iOS) | SMS composer, photo library, notifications | Handled entirely on-device via Apple's own frameworks |
When you purchase Curb or a workspace subscription, payment is processed entirely by Stripe. Curb never receives, stores, or has access to your full card number. We receive confirmation that payment succeeded and a Stripe customer reference ID, which we use to manage your account access.
Payment handles you add for your own clients to pay you (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal) are stored only as usernames or contact identifiers you provide — Curb never processes these payments directly; we simply generate a link or pre-filled message that opens the relevant app.
If you use Curb as a solo operator, your job and client data is stored locally on your device. We do not have routine access to it. Your account email and payment status are stored on our servers (via Supabase) so we can verify your purchase and provide support if needed.
If you create or join a paid shared workspace, your business data (jobs and clients) is stored on our servers so it can sync across devices and team members. This data is protected by access controls that ensure only members of your workspace can view it.
Workspaces allow multiple people to collaborate on one business. When you join a workspace, you can access the data the workspace owner and other members have entered, according to your assigned role (Owner, Admin, or Crew). Crew members have restricted access and cannot view client contact details or financial information.
If a workspace subscription lapses, each member's local copy of the data is preserved on their own device, and the shared copy is retained on our servers for 30 days in case of resubscription, after which it is permanently deleted.
You can, at any time, directly within the app:
Curb is designed to support service businesses run by people of various ages, including teenage operators. The app itself does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account.
We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including encrypted password storage, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit, and database access controls that restrict who can view stored data. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and your clients' information.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
